Sermon Outline Title: Be Set Free by the Blood of Christ
Bible Text: Exodus 12; John 8:30-36
Theme: True freedom comes only through obedience to Christ
Big Idea: The blood of the Lamb doesn’t just save us—it sets us free to live changed lives

d. The blood and hyssop pointed forward to Christ and the cross
2. Freedom Is Found in Continuing With Christ (John 8:30-32)
a. Many believed, but Jesus called them to continue in His word
b. Belief alone is not discipleship—obedience reveals true faith
c. Truth is not learned only, it is lived
d. Obedience is what leads to freedom
3. Freedom Separates Us From the World (John 8:34; James 4:4)
a. Sin makes a person a slave, even if they don’t realize it
b. A follower of Christ cannot feel at home in a wicked world
c. Trying to straddle the fence leads to bondage, not freedom
d. Separation is not loss—it is liberty
4. Freedom Sets Us Apart for God’s Purpose (John 8:36)
a. Christ frees us not only from sin, but for service
b. Purpose brings joy—disobedience brings misery
c. Our daily lives are our strongest testimony
d. True freedom is found in surrender, not self-will
Illustration
Israel was free the night the blood was applied—but they still had to walk out of Egypt. Salvation happened in a moment, but freedom was learned by following God day by day. The same is true for us.
Alliterated Main Points

• Truth Obeyed
• World Forsaken
• Purpose Fulfilled
Conclusion / Invitation
Jesus told religious people they were still slaves—because sin enslaves. The same truth stands today. The Son still sets people free, but freedom comes through obedience. If He has saved you, walk in it. If you are still bound, freedom is available today.
